We are the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Chinese Association the oldest Chinese Association in Christchurch.
It is a non profit community association founded by members who have migrated to New Zealand from China and many members are have now had parents and grand parents who were members. It helps us to main our culture and introduce others to our culture and to create and support network for all.
We have our own association hall and as an association we organise many events. Each year there is the Chinese New Years celebration and then the Jung Festival and Moon Cake festival celebrated at the Association hall with entertainment and lunch all provided by the volunteers from our members and also the Christmas Picnic.
The big event each year where the members get together is the Easter Culture and Sports Tournament held each year in a number of different centres and hosted by us here in Christchurch ever four years
We also run many events for the members of the association. We are the only association that teaches Cantonese Chinese Language.
